About Mireya Arvizu, RDN
Mireya Arvizu graduated from The University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in Dietetics in 1997. She worked as a dietetic technician for several years to gain experience in the medical field and pursue her next career goal to become a Registered Dietitian. She obtained a certification as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in 2004 and has worked in different clinical and community settings providing nutrition and diabetes self-care management education to gestational and adult clients in individual or group settings. Mireya has always been interested in educating people with diabetes and her final career goal was to become a Certified Diabetes Educator. She received her certification as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (formerly known as Certified Diabetes Educator) in 2013. For the past 8 years, she has been working at Genesis OB/GYN Maternal Fetal Medicine. It is still her passion to continue providing nutrition education and diabetes self-care management for patients with diabetes in pregnancy to improve their health and well-being to achieve a healthy pregnancy.
